Aino’s practice area focusses on corporate and financial restructuring and insolvency as well as non-distressed debt finance, advising banks and other lenders, corporate borrowers and insolvency practitioners. Aino has experience advising on corporate and financial restructurings and special situations mandates, disposals of distressed businesses and advising insolvency practitioners before, during and after their appointment. Aino also has experience advising both lenders and borrowers in connection with domestic and cross-border debt finance deals, including asset based lending and venture and growth finance. [Aino has spent time on secondment in the firm's Hong Kong office as well as on client secondment to HSBC].

EXPERIENCE

Restructuring

  • Advising Project Lietzenburger Strasse HoldCo Sarl on its successful Part 26A restructuring plan, which is the first successful use of a Part 26A restructuring plan process for a German real estate development asset, with more than EUR 1bn of debt restructured pursuant to the Plan.
  • Advising the joint administrators from FTI on the trading and subsequent sale of TriRx Speke Ltd to a US listed business, Elanco Animal Health Inc. The deal involved a pharmaceutical site of over 40 acres with a significant workforce of over 300 employees, an estimated direct investment of over £100m into the local economy.
  • Advising the joint administrators from BDO LLP on the sale of the business and assets of Mereway Kitchens Limited, a high end kitchen manufacturer whose customers included John Lewis

Finance

  • Advised leading non-bank lender Hercules Capital, Inc. on its USD55m venture debt financing of the Carwow group, an innovative online automotive marketplace.
  • Advised a global real estate management firm in connection with the English law aspects of its syndicated asset based lending and term facilities.
  • Advising HSBC on a restructuring and a subsequent refinancing of £30m cross-border facilities provided to a global software company
  • Advising HSBC Invoice Finance (UK) Limited in connection with £35m recourse and non-recourse invoice financing facilities provided to a cyber security specialist company.
