About

Sophie has extensive experience advising on all aspects of landlord and tenant, development and corporate occupier work, and specialises in managing the real estate aspects of complex company and asset acquisitions and disposals. She has helped deliver large scale developments, assisted clients in growing and managing their property portfolios and regularly advises on cross-border transactions.

Sophie is particularly active in the data centre sector, with expertise in high-value development and leasing of hyperscale campuses, and is currently advising on projects which will deliver approximately 450MW of capacity.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising CyrusOne on their European expansion involving site acquisition projects and hyperscaler leases across the continent.
  • Advising a consortium of financial investors on forming an investment partnership with Vantage Data Centers, a leading global provider of hyperscale data centre campuses. The Investment Partnership, which relates to certain European assets, is valued at approximately EUR2.5 billion.
  • Acting for I Squared Capital-backed nLighten on its acquisition of Proximity Data Centres, involving 10 stabilised data centre assets.
  • Advising Harrison Street on the sale of seven PBSA properties located in top-tier university cities across the UK.
  • Acting for National Grid on the real estate aspects of the disposal of its entire 50% share in St William Homes LLP to its joint venture partner, the housebuilder Berkeley Group, for approximately GBP1 billion.
  • Advising Willis Towers Watson on the ongoing management of their property portfolio, including the grant, regear and surrender of leases and all ancillary documents such as pre-emptions and licences for dealings.
  • Advising 2 Sisters Food Group on the Real Estate aspects of its sale of part of its Fox’s Biscuits business to Ferrero Group for GBP246 million.
  • Acting for High Speed Two (HS2) Limited on the acquisitions of the Curzon Street, Birmingham station site and Square One, Manchester station site (including subsequent strategic lease regears).
