Sophie has extensive experience advising on all aspects of portfolio management, landlord and tenant work, development and corporate occupier work, and specialises in managing the real estate aspects of complex corporate transactions involving company and asset acquisitions and disposals.

Sophie acts for institutional investors, FTSE 100 companies, developers, funding institutions and statutory undertakers. She has helped deliver large scale developments, assisted clients in growing and managing their property portfolios and regularly advises on cross-border transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for MKS Instruments Inc to coordinate the global Real Estate aspects of their acquisition of Atotech Limited with an enterprise value of USD6.5 billion. The transaction spanned over 40 countries and five continents.
  • Acting for High Speed Two (HS2) Limited on the acquisition of the Curzon Street station site for Phase 1 of the new rail route from London to Birmingham.
  • Advising Willis Towers Watson on the ongoing management of their property portfolio.
  • Advising 2 Sisters Food Group on the Real Estate aspects of its sale of part of its Fox’s Biscuits business to Ferrero Group for GBP246 million. 
  • Acting for Dignity Funerals Limited, one of the UK’s largest funeral providers with a portfolio of over 800 properties, on all aspects of its day to day property work.
  • Acting for National Grid on its regulated and un-regulated property portfolio, including disposals of large scale sites for multi-million pound residential development.
  • Assisting John Laing on its joint venture with Macquarie Capital as the vehicle for the GBP200 million purchase of a 250 unit McCarthy Stone UK retirement living rental portfolio with a commitment to drawdown of an additional 400 units with a value of GBP120 million.
  • Assisting on the sale by Prologis, Inc. of approximately 4.3 million square feet of buildings and approximately 31 acres of consented development land across England to real estate funds managed by Blackstone for GBP473 million. The disposition represents the largest sale of logistics real estate assets on record in the UK.
