Abhi Ravishankar is a Senior Associate in the Investment Management and Funds team in Sydney. She advises institutional investors, superannuation trustees and global and domestic fund managers on a broad range of investment management, funds and financial services matters, with particular experience in fund formation, private markets transactions and financial services regulation. Her practice spans private equity, private credit, infrastructure and real estate investments, as well as the establishment, operation and governance of investment funds.

Prior to joining private practice, Abhi worked in-house at Mercer, where she advised superannuation trustees on mergers, product development, disclosure and governance matters. Her in-house experience provides valuable insight into the commercial, operational and regulatory challenges faced by clients, enabling her to deliver practical and commercially focused advice.

  • Advising a major Australian superannuation investor on the establishment and investment into a global private equity fund-of-one structure valued at approximately AUD2.1 billion, supporting a significant strategic allocation to private markets.
  • Advising a leading North American financial institution on its AUD145 million acquisition of an Australian capital markets business, a transformative transaction that significantly expanded the client's Australian footprint. Led the financial services regulatory workstream, acting as the primary client contact on licensing, market participant, lending and related regulatory issues, while coordinating stakeholders across Australia, North America and the United Kingdom and supporting the negotiation of key transaction documents.
  • Advising a large Australian superannuation investor on a USD1 billion investment program into bespoke credit fund structures managed by leading global alternative asset managers.
  • Advising a leading global investment consultant and superannuation investor on a USD100 million investment into two Asia-Pacific infrastructure funds, including negotiation of fund documentation and investor protections.
  • Advising a superannuation client on a AUD200 million seed investment into a newly established Australian private credit fund, supporting the launch of the manager's inaugural Australia and New Zealand offering.
  • Advising an Australian institutional investor on a AUD140 million investment into a U.S. logistics real estate fund, as part of its global unlisted property investment strategy.
