Nicole is a Real Estate lawyer in the North West team at DLA Piper. She acts for institutional investors, pension funds and corporate occupiers on all aspects of their portfolio including acquisitions, disposals and asset management. 

Nicole also undertakes development, acquisition and asset management work for some of the UK's leading electric vehicle providers giving her an in-depth knowledge of the market in this area.

In addition, Nicole undertakes transactional work for major corporates in all asset classes including office retail and industrial including freehold acquisitions and disposals and commercial landlord and tenant work where she advises both landlords and tenants.

Nicole is also well versed in providing advice to institutional lenders on secured lending and property recovery matters covering retail & leisure and development for all types of properties including large complex portfolios.

EXPERIENCE

  • Documenting the leasing of car park sites to cater for electric vehicle charging points including high level due diligence and producing succinct and practical reporting documents suitable for a leading provider to understand the commercial considerations for the site. 
  • Acquiring, leasing or taking options over development sites for the intended transformation into electric vehicle charging 'hubs', akin to the electric equivalent of a petrol filling station. 
  • Asset management work for a major corporate including drafting, negotiating and completing leases of industrial units. Advising on and drafting licences to alter or underlet, consents to works, agreements for leases and surrender, deeds of surrender, tenancies at will and side letters. 
  • Acquiring industrial and service station sites across the UK.  Preparing appropriate documentation that sufficiently protects the client's position and providing practical advice on title issues and environmental considerations. 
  • Acquiring a large residential development site in the North West carrying out full due diligence on the property and providing practical advice on the commercial risks including long leasehold elements, change of use and development considerations.  
  • Letting office and retail spaces for a pension fund client focusing on robust provisions targeted to protect the value of the portfolio. 
  • Advising high street lenders on secured lending transactions, typically against large property portfolios or sizeable development sites and providing commercially sound solutions to issues with title, planning elements and existing lending structures. 
  • Disposing of a development site to a housing trust including preparing the relevant documentation and managing the due diligence process.
  • Acting for high street lenders on the recovery and disposal of assets including both private treaty and auction disposals, preparing the relevant documents and ensuring that receivers or lenders positions are adequately protected whilst accurately documenting the asset's legal position.
