Igor Šebo is a member of corporate team in DLA Piper in Prague. He focuses on structured finance, including acquisition, real estate and project finance. Igor also has experience in capital markets regulation and insolvency law.

Igor has experience in advising both lenders and borrowers in local and cross-border financing transactions, as well as in negotiating and drafting financing and other transactional documents. He also has coordinated several multi-jurisdictional financing transactions.

In his practice, Igor has assisted both local and international clients, financial institutions and corporate groups. He primarily focuses on clients from the real estate and the manufacturing sectors.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising a foreign investor in connection with an approximately EUR500 million facility provided by a syndicate of Asian banks for the development of a manufacturing facility in the Czech Republic. The transaction included drafting and negotiating financing documentation and providing related Czech law advice.
  • Advising a syndicate of Czech and foreign banks on the approximately EUR480 million financing of the first-ever highway PPP project in the Czech Republic. The transaction involved drafting, negotiating, and reviewing financing and transaction documentation.
  • Advising a German bank on the provision of refurbishment and long-term financing to a Czech developer for the revitalisation of a historic building in Prague city centre. The transaction included due diligence, drafting and negotiation of financing and transaction documentation, and general Czech law advice.
  • Assisting a foreign financial services company with a dispute involving a major Czech transport company in insolvency proceedings. The advice included complex negotiations with the debtor, communication with the insolvency trustee, and detailed analysis of Czech and private international law.
  • Advising Česká spořitelna, the largest bank by number of clients in the Czech Republic, in connection with the refinancing of the Main Point Pankrác office building, the first building of its kind in the world to feature smog absorption and air emission reduction technology.
  • Advising a club of banks led by Česká spořitelna in connection with the syndicated financing of the BMW Distribution Hub Mošnov industrial and logistics park. The project comprises approximately 170,000 square metres of leasable area and is being developed as a build-to-suit facility for BMW AG, with total project costs of USD136 million. The engagement included assistance with project and development finance documentation, transaction structuring, review of investor-BMW contractual arrangements, and project due diligence.
  • Advising UniCredit Bank Czech Republic and Slovakia, a.s. in connection with the financing of a new logistics park in Karlovy Vary being developed by the Accolade Group. The work included drafting and negotiating project and development finance documentation and conducting project due diligence.
