EXPERIENCE

  • Advising Growthpoint Investec African Properties (now Lango Real Estate Limited) in respect of the debt restructuring of USD300m in facilities provided by RMB and Standard Bank (through its Stanbic subsidiaries) in Mauritius, Ghana, Nigeria, Zambia, UAE and the Seychelles, secured against property assets in the retail and office sectors across multiple African jurisdictions.
  • Advising The STANLIB Infrastructure Fund of Funds, managed by STANLIB Asset Management, with a ZAR200bn revolving credit facility made available by The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited, for the purposes of funding future infrastructure and sustainable energy investments.
  • Advising Ardagh Glass South Africa and its subsidiaries in Ethiopia, Kenya and Nigeria on the refinancing of over ZAR9bn debt facilities provided by a syndicate of South African banks.
  • Advising RMB and RMB International (Mauritius) Limited in relation to a long-term debt facility provided, in an amount of up to USD10m to KOKO Networks, a carbon-financed clean cookstove provider in Kenya.
  • Advising a South African bank in relation to the provision of a USD200m facility made available to the world's third-largest copper mine situated in the DRC.
  • Advising Investec in relation to providing funding to Commercial Cold Storage Proprietary Limited and its subsidiaries in an amount of up to ZAR527m.
  • Advising a South African bank in relation to the provision of a ZAR700m borrowing base facility made available to a major materials handling equipment South African company.
  • Advising the International Finance Corporation (the IFC) and Lenmed Hospital Group (Lenmed) on a transaction involving the IFC making available a loan facility in an amount of ZAR200m to Lenmed.
  • Advising the International Finance Corporation (the IFC) and BPR Bank Rwanda Plc (BPR Bank Rwanda) in relation to the financing package of up to USD60m (in local currency equivalent) made available by the IFC to BPR Bank Rwanda, for the purposes of on-lending to small and medium-sized businesses in Rwanda.
  • Advising a South African financial services group in respect of three term loan facilities provided to a hospital group in an aggregate amount of ZAR660m and USD5m and the subsequent refinancing of the ZAR facilities.
  • Advising EOH Group on a corporate restructure and the refinancing of its group senior debt and note facilities with a consortium of South African lenders and note holders into a bridge facility and term facility, in anticipation of an equity capital raise and/or convertible loan.
  • Advising RMB and the Corruseal Group on the provision of term, revolving and general banking facilities to the Corruseal group of companies - to refinance existing senior debt and for general working capital requirements – deal value of ZAR1,1bn.
  • Advising the subscriber in relation to a refinancing of the preference share funding in an amount of up to ZAR660m, made available to a major South African Level 1 B-BBEE contributor investment holding company.
  • Advising a leading renewable energy solutions provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, in relation to certain debt and preference share funding in an amount of up ZAR507m, made available to it by a major South African bank.
