Aymar Sotomayor specializes in legal advice on regulatory and environmental law, with special emphasis on the energy and mining sectors. His professional practice is focused on legal advice to national and multinational companies in the hydrocarbons, mining, electricity, telecommunications, agriculture, forestry, industry, transportation, sanitary, port, among others; in obtaining authorizations, execution of infrastructure projects, contractual administration, due diligence processes, environmental audits and implementation of environmental management systems.
Aymar represents clients in administrative sanctioning procedures before the OEFA, OSINERGMIN, SUTRAN, OSITRAN, ANA, DIGEMID, DIGESA, among other entities.

- Advising on administrative sanctioning procedures in the energy and industry sectors, one of which had a fine amounting to approximately USD $162 million
- Advising on qualification processes required as an oil and gas investor in Peru before PERUPETRO S.A.
- Advice in the negotiation and analysis of supply contracts in the hydrocarbons and electricity sector
- Advice in due diligence processes within the framework of acquisitions in the hydrocarbons, industry, telecommunications, pharmaceutical and other sectors, from the regulatory point of view
- Advice on the legal analysis of environmental management instruments in various sectors such as energy, industry, agriculture, and others, as well as their enforceability in certain cases
- Advice on the analysis of permits, licenses and authorizations in the hydrocarbons, mining, electricity, telecommunications, agriculture, forestry, industry, transportation, sanitary, port, among others
- Advice in environmental emergency situations in the mining, hydrocarbons, transportation and other sectors
- Analysis of legal contingencies associated with non-compliance of regulatory obligations in the environmental, mining, hydrocarbons, etc. sectors
- Advice on relevant aspects for commercial operations in the industrial sector, such as product labeling from the legal point of view
- Advising on energy transition projects such as those related to the development of carbon credit markets
- Advice on the legal analysis of environmental, mining and hydrocarbon regulations and regulatory projects, among others, and their impact on the client's operations
- Advice on environmental matters related to forestry sector regulations, solid waste in various sectors, protected natural areas, water resources and climate change
