Milly Thomas LL.M.

Milly’s practice focuses on climate change and biodiversity, including international projects focused on climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience. She advises on the negotiation and domestic implementation of international environmental law for the mitigation of climate change and protection of biodiversity, and advocacy strategies for law and policy which promotes access to justice for those most impacted by climate change. Amongst her clients are developing country governments, UN agencies, and non-profit organisations.

Passionate about using the law to advance climate action, Milly has completed a Master of Laws programme in environmental law and policy at University College London, where she was recognised for achieving the highest overall mark in her specialism and received an award for excellence in environmental law research. Since joining DLA Piper, Milly has undertaken several speaking engagements on issues of international environmental law and co-authored publications on issues including climate-related sea-level rise, the just transition and international climate diplomacy.
