Hilary Turner advises institutional investors in negotiation and structuring investments across a broad spectrum of U.S., European and Asian alternative asset classes, including private equity funds, credit funds, venture funds, infrastructure funds, real estate funds, and hedge funds. With a deep understanding of the intricacies of the global investment landscape, Hilary routinely assists both investor-side and sponsor-side clients in the formation and negotiation of bespoke investment vehicles, co-investments, joint ventures, and separate accounts.

Hilary provides strategic counsel to clients on a range of investment-related issues, including restructurings, general partner removals, direct investments, and the acquisition and sale of partnership interests through private tender offers and large-scale secondary market transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising an Australian insurance company as an early investor in a new strategy/product offing from a large, global fund manager in data centers.
  • Advising a private fund sponsor in a co-investment vehicle that would be invested in NSW land registries business, including the negotiation of the trust deed and subscription agreement.
  • Advising Omni Bridgeway (OBL) on structuring, negotiating and launching a continuation fund (Fund 9) for Ares Management Corporation to acquire OBL's co-investment in 150+ investments across underlying OBL funds and balance sheet investments. Ares acquired a 70% interest in Fund 9 for an upfront cash consideration of AUD310 million paid to OBL.
