About

Elena Vadolas has vast experience in banking supervisory law, investment law and asset management. She also covers the FinTech sector.

As part of the strategic financial group planning, her advice focuses on licensing issues, the planning, structuring and coordination of complex international shareholder control procedures for financial and conglomerate groups (including due diligence in M&A transactions in the financial sector) as well as on fundamental issues in cross-border transactions, in particular within the ambit of the so-called "Brexit planning" (notification procedure for branches and cross-border activities, booking models, substance requirements for regulated companies, MaRisk amendment 2017).

In addition, the banking supervisory advice encompasses all issues relating to the Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM), product structuring and classification in accordance with the CRR (Basel III) and mandates driven by resolution law (BRRD, SRMR, SAG).

In the area of investment law, Elena deals with fundamental questions of investment and structural planning (eg platforms) as well as questions in the case of investment by insurance companies and pension funds (Solvency II, AnlV).

  • Advising several UK and international retail and wholesale banking and asset management groups on the business impacts of Brexit and EEA access options, including the licensing procedures for several new German-based subsidiaries
