Zhen Wang

Dr. Zhen Wang holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with 5 years of industrial working experience. Her research areas include ultrafast laser-material interaction, advanced optical design, ex-situ and in-situ spectroscopic monitoring, automation, and system integration for precision manufacturing instruments. She also has background in inorganic chemistry and materials science, and her previous research includes the development of novel concrete and study of Li-ion battery materials.

Before transitioning to a patent agent, Dr. Wang worked as a research scientist in the gemstone industry focused on the development of gemstone processing and grading instruments, including designing instruments for gemstone inscription, spectroscopic characterization based on concepts of UV-Vis, FTIR, Raman, and photoluminescence. In this role, she was responsible for generating innovative concepts, conducting fundamental experiments to validate mechanisms, and advancing benchtop prototypes to production-ready instruments.
