Aurélie practices in the area of competition law, advising on all aspects of antitrust and merger control.

Before starting at DLA Piper mid-2022, Aurélie obtained her LL.M. in Competition Law at King’s College London and has worked previously as a junior associate in EU & Competition law and Corporate law, with a focus on corporate housekeeping & restructuring, at a Big Four law firm. Aurélie was also a Blue Book Trainee at DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship & SMEs (DG GROW – European Commission) at the office of the Director-General.

Aurélie has advised clients on a wide range of competition law issues, including merger control proceedings, foreign direct investment screening regimes, horizontal and vertical arrangements and investigations by the European Commission and Belgian Competition Authority. She has also assisted on the design of competition compliance training programs for companies and trade associations.

  • Advising international and Belgian companies on multi-jurisdictional, EU and Belgian merger assessment and assisting in filings in different sectors including the automotive, transport, logistics and the consumer goods industry.
  • Advising international and Belgian companies on foreign direct investment screening regulations in different jurisdictions and assisting in the notification.
  • Advising international and Belgian companies on investigations by the Belgian Competition Authority as well as the European Commission.
  • Advising on information exchange arrangements, in particular in the context of trade associations.
