About
Alex is a Senior Associate in DLA Piper’s Litigation & Regulatory group based in Australia with close to 10 years’ experience in dispute resolution.  Alex specialises in commercial dispute resolution and has regularly advised multi-national clients in both institutional and ad hoc arbitrations, as well as in court proceedings. 

Prior to joining DLA Piper Australia, Alex worked at DLA Piper’s Hong Kong office, where he gained extensive experience in cross-border complex commercial disputes.

  • Representing a shareholder of a substantial bulk carrier company in relation to a shareholder dispute with the amount involved of over USD100 million.
  • Advising a global financial institution relating to potential allegations of misleading marketing and promotional material.
  • Advising global technology companies in Australia on interpretation of contracts and crisis management.
  • Acting on Corporations Act matters such as schemes of arrangements.
  • Advising a world-famous sports league in North America in relation to a potential ICC arbitration against a subsidiary of a publicly-listed PRC company regarding possible breaches of a license agreement.
  • Advising a multi-national insurance group in relation to a potential HKIAC arbitration against another multi-national insurance group on potential disputes arising out of a distribution agreement.
  • Advising a Shanghai-headquartered hotel group in relation to a potential HKIAC arbitration against guarantors and sellers under a share transfer agreement.
