Sara Leitão practices in employment law, in several sectors, providing legal advice and assisting on court cases.

She assists companies with day-to-day advice, preparation of employment-related documents, disciplinary proceedings, redundancy procedures and restructuring operations.

Sara is Guest Lecturer at Lisbon University Law School and is on the scientific board of the International Labour Law Review (RIDT), the first Portuguese electronic publication, with an international dimension, with peer review, specifically targeted to the study of Labour Law and related areas.

She is also a guest speaker at several conferences on Labour Law-related subjects.

  • Advising several companies on day-to-day labour-related matters and representing clients on court cases related to administrative offences, dismissals, work accidents and other;
  • Advising several transactions, in Portugal and abroad, focused on acquisition and restructuring of workforce.
  • Advising a leading digital platform on the adaptation of the business in view of the new rules and presumptions introduced in the Portuguese Labour Code, in all procedures and lawsuits related with the presumption of labour contracts and misclassification claims and on day-to-day employment matters.
  • Advising a leading online gaming company in respect to a complex DD for the acquisition of a local company.
  • Advising a global discount supermarket chain on all labour matters (more than 250 retail shops), including day-to-day assistance.
  • Advising a global tobacco company on day-to-day matters.
