Julia Naberezhnaya focuses on advising clients on comprehensive due diligence, transfer pricing, tax dispute resolution, tax structuring, and other ongoing tax issues. She participates in tax planning and tax audit projects and has extensive experience in dealing with the tax authorities.

Before joining DLA Piper Julia served as a civil servant at the Interdistrict Tax Inspectorate for Major Taxpayers as an audit unit inspector. As a civil servant, Julia participated in field audits of major Russian banks, insurance companies and foreign legal entities. She also acted as a representative of the relevant competent body during the trial of tax disputes in arbitrazh courts and was engaged in writing opinions on thin capitalisation issues.

Julia possesses a wealth of experience in coordinating projects involving the preparation of transfer pricing reports for major foreign companies, in analysing the market, in conducting financial analyses of companies, and in drafting their pricing strategies and so forth. She is involved in preparing transfer pricing documents and advising on how to minimise pricing risks for such companies as Stockmann, Alcatel, Crocs, Mettler Toledo, Belkin and others.

Julia is an active participant in meetings with representatives of competent bodies responsible for transfer pricing control, she has assisted in devising a number of draft laws on amending Russian tax legislation.

Julia often speaks at various business events on topical legal and tax matters, including at meetings and seminars with the participation of public authorities of diverse levels (tax and customs bodies, and the Government of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, courts, etc).

Currently, Julia acts as a co-chair of the Finance Committee of St Petersburg International Business Association (SPIBA).
