DLA Piper strengthens international Tax practice with partner appointment in Italy

DLA Piper announces the appointment of Federico Pacelli as a partner in its international Tax practice based in Italy. Federico will be leading the Italian Transfer Pricing team.

Federico has more than 10 years' experience as a leading tax lawyer, most recently at the Italian law firm BonelliErede. He has extensive expertise in a number of products and areas, with particular focus on transfer pricing and international tax planning; direct and indirect taxation in relation to corporate reorganisation and acquisition operations; tax control frameworks and tax litigation. His experience covers a wide range of sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, engineering, fast moving consumer goods, fashion, luxury goods and design.

Commenting on the appointment, Roderik Bouwman, partner and Co-Global Head of Tax, said: "Federico is a highly talented lawyer and his extensive experience in transfer pricing will be of enormous benefit to our clients."

Joel Cooper and Randall Fox, Co-Heads of the International Transfer Pricing team, added: "This appointment reflects our ambition to continue to deliver a top-tier service to our clients. Federico brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be a great asset to the firm as we continue to build on the success of our fast growing transfer pricing group."

Federico's appointment continues the busy period for DLA Piper's international Tax group. Last week, the firm announced the hire of Leeds-based partner, David Smith. In addition to new senior hires in the London, Rome and Amsterdam teams, the last 12 months has seen the firm launch new Tax practices in the Middle East and South Africa.
