DLA Piper advises Elbe-Stahlwerke Feralpi on corporate financing

DLA Piper has advised the German ESF Elbe-Stahlwerke Feralpi GmbH (ESF) on a term loan and revolving facilities agreement provided by UniCredit Bank AG and BNP Paribas as arrangers and lenders. The financing is partly backed by German development bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). The funds will be used for KfW eligible investments under the environmental programme (Umweltprogramm) of KfW at the premises in Riesa, Germany, as well as for general corporate purposes.

ESF is based in Riesa, Saxony, Germany, and produces steel products for the construction industry. It is among the tenth largest steel-producing plants in Germany and belongs to the Italian Feralpi Group, one of Europe's leading steel manufacturers specializing in structural steels.

The international DLA Piper team was led by partner Dr Wolfram Distler and included senior associates Patrick Reuter and Tony Sparing and associate Ilgin Ayhan (all Finance, Frankfurt), and further DLA Piper lawyers in Budapest and Prague.
