Philip Hancock advises on construction, infrastructure and engineering disputes and projects facing technical, legal and commercial challenges.

He has several years’ experience acting for a range of clients across a number of different sectors, on a variety of different projects, and in different dispute resolution forums. He helps clients achieve their goals, in circumstances that are often extremely time-pressured, cost-sensitive, and rife with commercial and legal issues.

He has particular experience working with clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector, and has acted on a variety of power generation projects, in particular a number of renewable energy projects (onshore wind, solar, biomass), as well as non-renewable (oil and gas, and coal-fired power plants).

He has experience in many of the major forms of construction and engineering contracts (FIDIC, NEC3, JCT, as well as bespoke contracts).

Philip acts for all companies in the supply chain, from funders, employer and developers, to contractors and subcontractors, to consultants. He has worked very closely with well known industry experts in delay & disruption, quantum, and experts specialising in myriad technical issues.

He has experience in a range of sectors, including Energy and Natural Resources (principally power generation projects), Infrastructure, Construction and Transport (a large number and variety of construction and engineering projects, major infrastructure projects including ports and hospitals, and several rail/rolling stock disputes), Real Estate (residential and mixed-use projects, manufacturing projects and warehouses, hotels), Life Sciences (chemical manufacturing projects), Industrials, Financial Services, and Insurance.
