Staś Kuźmierkiewicz assists in managing the firm's UK Pro Bono practice, developing international and domestic pro bono projects for DLA Piper's UK fee earners.

Staś oversees many of the firm's legal advice clinics across the UK, where lawyers provide advice to vulnerable individuals on areas of law ranging from nationality to welfare benefits. He works closely with partner organisations who supervise and administer the clinics, to ensure each project delivers maximum impact.

Staś is developing the firm's human rights work and UN engagement. He has worked on shadow reports for treaty bodies such as the CEDAW Committee, and led on multi-jurisdictional research projects, including those on birth registration and inheritance rights for the firm's global partner, UNICEF.

Staś has managed the UK Collaborative Plan for Pro Bono, a sector wide working group focussed on increasing individuals' access to justice in the UK, since its inception in 2014. The Plan has brought together over 40 law firms to share experience and resources, develop legal clinics, and run workshops on developing effective pro bono practices.

Staś also works with the firm's international human rights and business practice, which advises both the firm and its clients on their obligations in this area.

Staś trained at DLA Piper and spent time in the Litigation, Finance, Pensions and Tax departments, as well as completing a three month secondment at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
