Jessica is a solicitor in the construction and engineering team and advises clients on non-contentious construction matters.

Jessica is experienced in drafting, negotiating and finalising project documentation under a wide range of construction methods, both nationally and internationally, as well as advising on and carrying out due diligence in respect of large-scale transactions and development funding arrangements.

Jessica is particularly experienced in advising on development projects and regularly acts on matters involving financing agreements, forward purchase and agreements for lease, providing input on the drafting and negotiating of construction elements of such agreements and ensuring that the requirements of such agreements are properly reflected in the project construction documents.

EXPERIENCE

  • Advising on construction projects and new developments at various theme parks across the UK and internationally to create new rides and attractions around the world.
  • Advising a pension fund client acting as developer on the drafting, negotiating and completion of building contracts and consultant appointments for construction projects at various properties held by the fund.
  • Advising bank and development financing clients as funders on development loan facility agreements.
  • Acting for the developer on a 22 hectare mixed-use development comprising office, storage and industrial space including drafting and negotiating a bespoke building contract and numerous consultant appointments.
  • Advising the purchaser in relation to due diligence on construction documents and assisting on drafting of the sale agreement on a GBP24m property portfolio sale for student accommodation and office buildings.
  • Advising a logistics client on the construction and financing of their UK portfolio, including new build logistics premises at a 1 million sq ft site and providing construction advice and due diligence on the subsequent sale of the corporate SPVs which held the site.
