Financial disputes

For banking clients, Rachel has acted in a variety of disputes, including extensively on professional negligence claims against a variety of professionals, including solicitors, valuers and monitoring surveyors. Rachel’s experience includes claims involving large lending portfolios, hotels, restaurants, offices and foreign assets. Rachel also has experience of investigating fraudulent borrowing and advising on claims arising and has achieved large settlements for her clients. Rachel has defended banking clients in a range of claims emanating from the sale of interest rate products, including in relation to allegations of mis-selling, misrepresentation and economic duress. Rachel has also advised on complex consequential losses claims and the instruction of forensic experts.. Rachel also has a wealth of experience of advising upon breach of mandate and breach of contract claims against Banks, seeing off many claims at the pre-action stages. Rachel is currently advising on a range of issues arising from the lending on the government backed bounce back loans.

Commercial disputes

Rachel’s work encompasses advising commercial clients from multiple industries and business sectors. Rachel has advised on a range of contract and regulatory disputes including on public sector and pensions issues. In particular, Rachel acted in a multi-million pound PFI contract dispute. Rachel has a wealth of trial and mediation experience, including success in the Court of Appeal. Rachel adopts a tenacious yet commercial approach, seeking to understand her clients’ business needs and objectives.
