Edwin Truesdale is a Legal Director who qualified in both Scotland and England. He advises clients based on both sides of the border across a range of disciplines with particular specialisms in real estate finance, renewables and restructuring both in the retail and residential development sectors.

Edwin has extensive experience of acting for banks on taking security over both investment portfolios and development projects in both Scotland and England. His experience in the renewables sector extends to on shore wind and energy from waste projects acting for both developers and funders.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acting for Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. in connection with the financing of the c.35MW Aries Windfarm in Dumfries and Galloway. This is a fourteen turbine site being developed by 2020 Renewables. Given its remote location, access to the project was a particular challenge and involved dealing with multiple land interests
  • Acting for Greencoat UK Wind Plc in connection with the acquisition of a 69.5 MW operational project known as Corriegarth Windfarm from Invenergy Renewables for a consideration of approximately £181 million. The transaction was undertaken as part of a competitive bidding process and delivered within a challenging time frame
  • Acting for Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFJ Ltd. in connection with the project financing of the 39MW Tom nan Clach Windfarm following the grant of permission for its redesign to permit development of larger turbines to increase efficiency and capacity
  • Acting for Nord LB on the project financing of the 30MW Coire Na Cloiche Windfarm near Alness which was among the first batch of projects to be awarded Department of Energy and Climate Change Contracts for Difference (CFD) and is capable of supplying power to 16,000 homes once operational
  • Acting for Investec Bank Plc in connection with the project financing of an energy from waste development in West Lothian, Scotland
  • Acting for a Scottish based international health and safety testing company in connection with the management of their property portfolio throughout the UK
  • Acting for TTT Moneycorp Limited in connection with the letting of c.23,000 square feet of office space at the Zig Zag Building, Victoria, London and subsequent underletting of part to Ladbrokes
