TechLaw Podcast: Automation and AI: the legal issues

TechLaw Podcast Series

In this latest episode from the TechLaw podcast series, we discuss the legal issues and concerns regarding evolving artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning technologies. Three DLA Piper partners come together to share insight into how these technological advancements are changing the work that they do, but also the world that we live in.

The host, Gareth Stokes, is a partner in DLA Piper’s Global Intellectual Property and Technology group and has experience working on numerous complex major procurement and sourcing projects within heavily regulated industries. Gareth is joined by two fellow IPT partners, Giangiacomo Olivi and Larissa Park. Aside from being one of the most awarded lawyers in Italy, Giangiacomo Olivi has gained substantial experience advising clients on technology, media, communications and commercial transactions, with a focus on data protection and data security. Larissa Park brings experience on patents and other intellectual property strategies, counseling, prosecution, diligence and litigation.

In this episode,  the participants look at these issues:

  • From market standards in contracts to questioning liability, how AI is changing the approach to projects.
  • Intellectual property changes and challenges in an AI age.
  • Learning from data and how privacy will be affected in an AI world.
