The world is always changing, sometimes in unforeseeable ways, and we understand that and are working hard, every day, to find ways to help your business keep growing and getting stronger throughout – even in these unprecedented times. We will keep you informed on intellectual property and technology developments and will be sharing insights on how they will affect your business.

In a time when privacy and cybersecurity are critical, businesses also must contend with new laws that demand they mitigate the risk of data breaches through compliance programs. IPT Partner Ed McAndrew served for nearly a decade at the DOJ. As a former federal cybercrime prosecutor, he helps clients manage cyber-risk, comply with legal requirements and industry standards, prepare for and respond to cyber-incidents and handle related investigations and litigation. His article with Litigation partner Amanda Fitzsimmons, a Certified Information Privacy Professional, is not to be missed.

Our group has several new additions to our Life Science Patent Litigation team. Mike Sitzman, Ellen Scordino, Susan Krumplitsch, Sam Deka, April Isaacson, and Erica Kuo have deep technical knowledge and impressive trial experience. Find out more about them throughout this issue.

We know that companies are contending with significant unexpected challenges this year. We are fully committed to providing you with efficient access to information to assist in overcoming adversities presented by the COVID-19 global health crisis. To this end, we have created a Coronavirus Resource Center to serve as a central repository across jurisdictions and industries. Since the start of the outbreak, we have disseminated a wide range of information to help guide our clients, including alerts and webinars, and these resources, as well as key contacts from our firm around the world, will be located there.

As this situation continues to evolve, we remain committed to working with you to address both the short term as well as the long term challenges ahead.
