Financial Services in Ireland

In this video Conor Houlihan, Partner, outlines the types of financial services for which Ireland has become an important, global hub, the changes this sector is undergoing and how, as Ireland’s only globally integrated, multidisciplinary law firm, DLA Piper is delivering solutions that go far beyond traditional legal services for some of the biggest domestic and international players.

Ireland is home to 250 of the world’s leading financial firms, including half of the world’s top 50 banks. It is a major global hub for funds, aircraft leasing, insurance and a wide range of wholesale banking activities. International banks, investment managers, insurers, aircraft lessors and other financial firms located in Ireland provide financial services to every major economy in the world.

International firms also heavily invest in Irish assets and companies and use tax efficient Irish structures. Certainly, international firms and international investment in Ireland form a critical part of Ireland’s globally recognised financial services sector, and this continues to grow – including in the areas of funds, aircraft leasing and restructuring (as further discussed below).
