On June 20 and 21, firm leaders and members of our Israel team held a series of networking and outreach events in the Tel Aviv district, meeting with and presenting to GCs, top tier firm executives, investors and diplomats. Jeremy Lustman and Paul Jayson put together four events. Tony Angel, Lee Miller, Simon Levine, Alan Solow and Leon Medzhibovsky participated in discussions of the Israeli legal scene and the benefits and complications for Israeli companies doing business in the US.
ACC Israel 10th Annual Conference
On June 20, Simon Levine presented “Legal Issues Related to Social Media” during the morning session of the DLA Piper co-sponsored ACC Israel 10th Annual Conference, a gathering of 170 in-house counsel from across the country. This year’s conference topic was “The General Counsel’s position in effecting corporate decisions.”
Outdoor dinner and cocktail event
Following the conference, Tony and Ruth Angel invited guests to a private dinner and cocktail event. More than 40 attended the fête, including the British Ambassador to Israel, the Australian Ambassador to Israel, GCs and senior executives from prominent companies as well as marquee investors, many of whom are new and growing clients of the firm.
Signature Breakfast Series
On June 21, DLA Piper held the second offering of our Signature Breakfast Series. The morning’s theme was “Acquiring distressed assets in the United States; lessons for Israeli investors and companies.” Alan Solow spoke on how Israeli investors and companies should approach US distressed assets, and Leon Medzhibovsky discussed monetizing IP assets and acquiring such assets in bankruptcy. Over 35 members of the Israeli business and legal community attended.
Innovations in Law Firm Management
Rounding out the group’s itinerary, managing partners from top Israeli law firms were invited to lunch to hear Tony Angel present "Innovations in Law Firm Management.” The gathering of over 25 of Israel’s rainmakers heard Tony’s perspectives on initiatives and innovations he has encountered over his years of law firm management.
