International law firm DLA Piper has acted as Dutch legal adviser to Fortissimo Capital on its acquisition of international roaming solutions developer Starhome BV from Comverse Technology Inc. In August, Comverse announced that it sold Starhome for $80.3 million in cash, and the deal closed on October 24, 2012.
Fortissimo Capital is a leading Israeli private equity investment group. Fortissimo’s private equity funds, with half a billion dollars under management, invest primarily in Israeli related public and private technology and industrial companies that require a capital infusion to expand their businesses.
Starhome, founded in 1999, has 220 employees, including 180 employees in Israel. Starhome's products are used by more than 200 mobile carriers worldwide, including by 20 of the world's 30 largest carriers. More than 50% of global roaming traffic is handled by Starhome's technology.
The team from DLA Piper comprised of partners Daphne Bens (Corporate), Hendrik Gravenhorst (Corporate) and Lex Oosterling (Finance) as well as senior associate Aston Goad (Corporate) and associates Noor Gerver (Corporate), Floris van der Velde (Corporate), Nicole Vreeman (Corporate) and Stephanie Menz (Finance). The deal was introduced by partner Jeremy Lustman (Corporate, Washington D.C.).
