DLA Piper is delighted to announce that it has been named European Mid-Market Law Firm of the Year for the third year running at the Financial Times and Mergermarket European M&A awards on 12 December 2012.
The event saw DLA Piper once again beat off tough competition from Allen & Overy, Clifford Chance, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Linklaters and White & Case to win the mid-market legal adviser of the year award.
Mergermarket M&A deal value and volume data was used to draw up a shortlist of firms that were then invited to make submissions. The independent judging panel of M&A experts assessed the data against criteria that included the strategic nature, complexity, financing requirements and ground-breaking or novel nature of the deals to decide upon the winners.
DLA Piper was also shortlisted for the United Kingdom, Central & Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS and Sub-Saharan Legal Adviser of the Year awards.
Charles Severs, International Group Head of Corporate at DLA Piper, commented: "winning the award for European Mid-Market Law Firm of the year for the third year running is a fantastic result for our Corporate team. This award is a testament to the complexity and quality of the work done by our team across Europe and is further evidence of DLA Piper having one of the leading M&A teams globally."
