DLA Piper is pleased to announce that for the ninth consecutive year the firm has earned a perfect score from the Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national survey and report from the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRCF). DLA Piper was again rated as a "Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality."
More than 1,000 companies were featured in the CEI's 2017 report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community.
"Receiving this recognition for the ninth consecutive year is a testament to DLA Piper’s commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion in the workplace," said Genhi Givings Bailey, DLA Piper's director of Diversity and Inclusion. "These are core values at DLA Piper and we hold ourselves to a high standard as we continue our work of promoting a culture that is inclusive of everyone."
As part of DLA Piper's Diversity and Inclusion initiative, DLA Piper recognizes LGBT Pride Month each year with a national program broadcast by video to the firm's US offices. Additionally, the firm's US LGBTQ Resource Group serves as a forum and advisory body on matters important to the LGBTQ community and provides opportunities for engagement in a variety of projects.
The HRCF is the educational arm of America's largest civil rights organization working to achieve equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and queer people. The foundation envisions a world where LGBTQ people are embraced as full members of society at home, at work and in every community.
