DLA Piper represented Acciona Energía and Grupo BioFields, now known as Grupo Alego, global energy companies operating in the renewable energy sector, in their strategic financing of Puerto Libertad, one of the largest photovoltaic projects in Latin America. Lenders include the North American Development Bank (NADB), Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios de México (BANOBRAS), Instituto de Crédito Oficial de España (ICO) and Banco SABADELL.
With 405 megawatts of peak power (MWp), Puerto Libertad is one of the highest capacity photovoltaic plants in Mexico and Latin America. The facility is located in the state of Sonora in Mexico.
