DLA Piper represented New Signature, a Washington, DC-based provider of Microsoft technologies, in its acquisition by Cognizant. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020.
New Signature, an award-winning Microsoft Partner, is exclusively focused on Microsoft technologies, with an integrated offering across all three of Microsoft's business clouds: Azure, Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365. Upon the close of the acquisition, New Signature's more than 500 cloud experts, based primarily in the US, the UK and Canada, will join Cognizant's newly formed Microsoft Business Group.
”Our extensive M&A experience and deep understanding of the technology sector were important assets in advising New Signature on its acquisition by Cognizant, which will expand New Signature’s access to important resources and allow it to continue providing clients with innovative cloud solutions,” said Eric Grossman, the DLA Piper partner who led the firm’s deal team.
“Eric and the team at DLA Piper have been trusted partners since our inception,” said Jeff Tench, CEO of New Signature. “Their wise counsel and business-oriented approach served us well throughout our journey and especially during our sale to Cognizant.”
