Loren Brown named to the National Law Journal's 2020 list of Winning Litigators

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Loren Brown, US and global co-chair of the firm’s Litigation and Regulatory practice, has been named a 2020 Winning Litigator by the National Law Journal. The list recognizes lawyers who have “tackled some of the most widely watched cases of the year.”

The publication highlighted Brown’s representation of Bristol-Myers Squibb and Pfizer in a lawsuit involving their anticoagulant medication Eliquis. Led by Brown, the team achieved a “precedent-setting” victory in the case that was affirmed on appeal, a “first decision by a US court of appeal finding preemption on the pleadings where the alleged safety information at issue involved a branded medication arising after FDA approval.”

Brown has an extensive litigation practice with a concentration in multi-district litigation that often involves large-scale mass tort and class action matters, as well as parallel regulatory and government enforcement proceedings. He has served as national coordinating counsel, tried jury cases, argued appeals and successfully resolved many notable multi-district litigation matters throughout the US.

Brown’s business litigation practice includes a range of commercial tort and contract, trade secret, intellectual property and securities class action matters. He also has significant experience in a range of internal investigation, compliance, and regulatory matters. He regularly counsels clients on a wide range of regulatory, risk management, due diligence, product labeling, product recall, public disclosure, policy and crisis management issues.
