DLA Piper appoints Competition partner to London team

DLA Piper has appointed Matt Evans as a partner to its London based Competition team. He joins from Jones Day where he led the firm’s UK Competition practice.

He is a highly experienced and established competition partner, with a particular focus on the merger control aspects of corporate transactions but also other areas of competition such as investigations into anti-competitive agreements and practices, including cartels and supply arrangements, market investigations, abuse of dominant position, State aid and general commercial issues. His experience includes representing a number of “marquee” international clients across a broad range of sectors such as aerospace, agriculture, betting and gaming, FMCG, technology, entertainment and real estate.

Matt joins the Competition team in London, led by Sarah Smith and will help to support the continued growth of the firms international Corporate practice on its transactional work as well as the increased engagement with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority as its responsibilities evolve post Brexit.
