DLA Piper partner Dean Fealk first law firm leader elected to board of Silicon Valley Leadership Group

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Dean Fealk, managing partner of the firm’s San Francisco office, has been elected to the board of directors of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group. He is the first law firm leader to be elected to the board.

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group (SVLG) is a nonprofit advocacy group that supports, enriches and drives the entrepreneurial innovation ecosystem of Silicon Valley. The organization was founded in 1978 by David Packard, co-founder of Hewlett-Packard, and represents more than 390 Silicon Valley's leading firms.

Fealk counsels multinational companies on international transactional and regulatory matters. He also advises world leaders and politicians on public policy issues related to international trade, economics and foreign policy.  He has advised three US presidential campaigns and represented the state of California on trade and investment missions around the globe.

Active in civic leadership, Fealk is honorary chair and a founding member of the Halifax International Security Forum, is past chair of the Northern California District Export Council and was appointed by Governor Newsom to the California Workforce Development Board. He served as national co-chair of Lawyers for Biden, and serves on the board of directors of the Bay Area Council, the California Business Roundtable and as a trustee of World Affairs. He has been designated an honorary Senator of the German Economy, an Eisenhower Fellow to China, a Marshall Memorial Fellow to the EU, a Fulbright Scholar to Korea, a Presidential Leadership Scholar, a Carnegie New Leader and a Truman National Security Fellow. Fealk is a graduate of Leadership San Francisco and a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
