Matthew Sarna receives 20/20 Partners Rising Young Leader Award from the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the ABA Business Law Section

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Matthew Sarna, an associate in the firm's Restructuring practice, has received the 20/20 Partners Rising Young Leader Award from the Business Bankruptcy Committee of the American Bar Association Business Law Section.

The award recognizes the nation’s top young bankruptcy lawyers who have demonstrated a steadfast commitment to business bankruptcy, community involvement, leadership and professionalism. Sarna was one of 19 lawyers to be selected for the inaugural class of the award.

Sarna focuses his practice on corporate restructuring and bankruptcy, and he advises a variety of clients in complex business reorganizations and insolvency matters. He has recently helped represent debtors such as Valeritas Holdings, Inc. in the first Chapter 11 filing in the country due primarily to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. He also helped represent Spyglass Media Group, Inc. in connection with its acquisition of substantially all assets of The Weinstein Company Holdings LLC.

Outside of his restructuring practice, Sarna is involved with a number of pro bono matters, including assisting veterans with obtaining discharge upgrades through the National Veterans Legal Services Program (NVLSP).
