DLA Piper advises Ambercycle in its US$21.6 million Series A financing

DLA Piper represented Ambercycle in its recent oversubscribed US$21.6 million Series A financing from H&M CO:LAB, KIRKBI, Temasek, BESTSELLER's Invest FWD, and Zalando.

Founded in 2015, Ambercycle is a materials science company dedicated to ending waste in the fashion industry and creating the ecosystem for infinite textiles. The Los Angeles-based company is developing and scaling a breakthrough technology to produce regenerated alternatives to conventional materials.

“We were pleased to bring together our market-leading experience advising emerging biotech companies on complex transactions to assist Ambercycle with this funding round, which will enable it to continue developing innovative infrastructure to reduce waste in the fashion industry,” said David Richardson, the DLA Piper partner who led the firm’s deal team.

In addition to Richardson, the DLA Piper team representing Ambercycle included Spencer Hodson and Zerina Tucakovic (all of Sacramento).

DLA Piper’s Emerging Growth and Venture Capital practice includes more than 200 lawyers in the US who provide strategic counsel to emerging companies in high-growth industries, including biotech, manufacturing, communications, software and semiconductors. Over the last three years, DLA Piper has completed more than 2,100 financings totaling over US$31 billion.
