DLA Piper Returns to Downtown Baltimore

DLA Piper today announced it will relocate its Baltimore office to 650 South Exeter Street, a landmark building situated in the heart of Baltimore’s Harbor East neighborhood. The new office will enable the firm to rebalance its real estate needs and further drive its adoption of a “high performance flexibility” strategy, an approach to combining remote and in-office work for optimal client service and attracting and retaining top talent.

“We are excited to return to downtown Baltimore after 20 years,” said Brett Ingerman, managing partner of the firm’s Baltimore office.  “Our new space will include state-of-the-art technology and meeting facilities to support our lawyers’ delivery of excellent service to clients here and around the world.”

Tenants and neighbors in Harbor East include JP Morgan, T. Rowe Price, Exelon, Bank of America, and Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School. The firm expects to move in June 2023.

“I am delighted that DLA Piper is returning to downtown Baltimore,” said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. “This is an exciting time for our downtown area, especially as our businesses emerge from the pandemic, and having a firm of DLA Piper's caliber anchor one of our premiere buildings is a 1 testament to the area’s reputation as a great place to do business with potential to grow and thrive."

“DLA Piper has always been a supporter of the Baltimore community, so it’s great to see the firm move their offices to the hub of the business district.” said Calvin Butler, chairman of the Greater Baltimore Committee and senior executive vice president and chief operating officer of Exelon.

In this transaction, DLA Piper was represented by JLL and the office will be designed by Gensler.
