Katie Allison advises on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate governance, restructurings, and bankruptcies both domestically and abroad. Katie has experience in distressed transactions both in and out of bankruptcy. Katie has also assisted in advising a variety of clients in complex business reorganizations and insolvency matters.

EXPERIENCE

SIGNIFICANT REPRESENTATIVE CHAPTER 11 AND CHAPTER 7 MATTERS
  • Counsel to trucking company, Celadon Group, Inc. and certain of its subsidiaries, in connection with their chapter 11 cases in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. As part of this representation, DLA Piper assisted the Debtors, as part of the largest trucking company bankruptcy filing in history, in consummating more than fifteen 363 sales, including the sale of the Debtors' primary operating entity. DLA Piper also assisted with the structured dismissal of Celadon Group, Inc.’s chapter 11 cases
  • Counsel to DIP Lender and plan sponsor, GT Gettaxi Limited, in connection with its provision of DIP loans and sponsorship of Juno USA LP's joint plan of reorganization and liquidation in In re Juno USA LP, et al., in connection with Juno USA LP’s chapter 11 case in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware
  • Counsel to Broadvision, Inc. in its successful prepackaged plan of reorganization filed in its chapter 11 case filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware
  • Counsel to the chapter 7 trustee in the Zetta Jet Pte., Ltd. and Zetta Jet USA, Inc. bankruptcy cases in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California, for which DLA Piper advised and attained the landmark judgment on recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings in Singapore under the UNCITRAL Model Law on Cross-Border Insolvency.

Katie was a member of the Appellate Advocacy Center, Supreme Court Clinic and the Center on Wrongful Convictions, both in the Bluhm Legal Clinic at Northwestern Law. Since being in practice, she has worked on forming non-profit corporations, criminal appeals and wrongful convictions cases.
