About
Amadi Anene focuses his practice on international trade, with particular emphasis on import/export, US sanctions, and US economic policy issues. He works with clients on complex litigation and regulatory matters, including those before various US government agencies, and dedicates much of his practice to providing pro bono services to those in need.

Prior to DLA Piper, Amadi was appointed by the White House to serve in President Barack Obama's administration as the Senior Advisor to the head of the US Small Business Administration (SBA). As Senior Advisor, Amadi focused on creating economic opportunity through lending in cities across the country and led programs and initiatives that increased capital flows to entrepreneurs and expanded workforce development efforts to small businesses. In this capacity, he also represented the SBA on the Federal Promise Zones task force, an inter-agency task force, which expanded economic development efforts to small businesses across the United States.

Before his service with the SBA, Amadi worked as a consultant, advising public and private sector companies on advanced analytics and financial services.
