Mac Bernstein's practice focuses on developing and directing government affairs strategies on complex policy matters, often incorporating advocacy, political engagement, grassroots outreach and public relations efforts and organizing issue-oriented coalitions at the federal and state level.

He regularly represents foreign government, corporate and non-profit clients before Congress, the US executive branch, and state government agencies, and he works closely with DLA Piper's international attorneys and government affairs professionals on international public policy and international law matters.

Mac has broad experience on foreign affairs and international development policy and works regularly with US government agencies, congressional leadership, and congressional committees responsible international policy issues. Other matters on which he has experience include foreign investment and trade, climate change, energy, environmental, judiciary, banking and financial services, housing, appropriations, tax, transportation, defense, and homeland security.
