Patrick Burri works with a variety of Executive Compensation and Employee Benefits matters. Patrick is familiar with both the complex tax and employment law issues inherent in the field. His practice centers on advising employers engaged in corporate transactions and in establishing employee plans. Patrick has experience with:

  • Conducting Employee Benefit and Executive Compensation support and due diligence to mergers and acquisitions.
  • Drafting equity plans for the grants of awards including stock options, restricted stock, restricted stock units, and stock appreciation rights.
  • Creating employee incentive plans for the grants of cryptocurrency awards.
  • Drafting execute compensation arrangements such as separation and carve-out agreements.
  • Resolving issues related employee benefits plans including 401(k) pension plans.
  • Researching employment and tax law issues to advise companies on potential business transactions.
  • Examining security law issues including under SEC Rule 701.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Patrick gained experience with tax law issues by working for government tax administration agencies during his JD and LL.M. programs.
