Dina DesRois focuses her practice on the defense of providers in the long-term care industry in lawsuits against residential care facilities for the elderly, skilled nursing facilities, hospice providers, and continuing care facilities. Dina advises and has successfully defended clients against claims of elder abuse, negligence, wrongful death, fraud, emotional distress, unfair business practices, violation of patient rights, breach of contract, and breach of statutory duties.

Dina also works on matters in insurance coverage and reinsurance, including litigation of a variety of insurance coverage disputes arising under professional liability policies, high-exposure construction defects, property damage and bodily injury, and environmental claims. Dina’s practice also focuses on London insurance market issues, among them reinsurance disputes, placement issues, first-party property insurance coverage issues and liability/casualty insurance coverage disputes.

Dina also advises companies on anticorruption, anti-money laundering/anti-terrorist financing, and sanctions compliance, including the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Dina represented medical providers and health care corporations in proceedings related to medical malpractice and wrongful death claims. Dina is also experienced in the areas of product liability, aviation litigation, bad faith, and mass torts.
