Matt Engel litigates and counsels on behalf of employers and senior executives in all aspects of employment law.

Matt has represented clients in every stage of litigation, from pre-action fact development through appeal in matters pending before federal and state courts, administrative agencies, and arbitration panels in cases involving issues such as alleged discrimination, whistleblowing, wage and hour law violations and complex contractual disputes.

Matt also provides counseling to national and international employers of all sizes on US employment and labor law compliance, policies and best practices across a variety of industries and sectors including financial services, retail, manufacturing, tech, media, sports and professional services. He regularly counsels management on a wide range of workplace issues, including employment discrimination and harassment, wage and hour practices, independent contractor and exempt/non-exempt classification issues, leaves of absence, reasonable accommodations, employee terminations, reductions in force, employee discipline and performance management.

Matt has performed internal investigations for clients seeking additional information on potential workplace issues and also advises clients on negotiating and drafting executive employment contracts and separation agreements.
