Dr. Deborah Grove's practice focuses on electrical, computer, physics, acoustics and optics technologies. 

Dr. Grove has extensive knowledge in the areas of software, business methods, signal processing, networks, data encryption, antennas, telecommunications, transducers, lasers, optoelectronics, silicon photonics, spectroscopy, semiconductor fabrication, medical devices, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), imagers and televisions. She has experience in various acoustic areas including loudspeakers, microphones, hearing aids, audio enhancement devices, speech recognition, speech synthesis, ultrasound, architectural acoustics, underwater acoustics, noise and vibration control, psychoacoustics and musical instruments.

Before joining DLA Piper, Dr. Grove practiced patent prosecution for ten years at a small law firm in the greater Philadelphia area. She has also worked as a researcher in the university and corporate sectors. She has authored and co-authored technical papers and is an inventor.

Her prior research includes heart murmur detection from auscultatory signals via speech recognition techniques, measurement techniques and apparatus for characterizing electronic stethoscopes, human-computer interfaces for sensor fusion, and techniques for acoustic source location and sound capture for hands-free communication. Her doctoral work focused on estimator-correlator detection algorithms for underwater signal processing.
