Irene Hong focuses her practice on international tax planning and controversy matters.

Irene advises multinationals with streamlining their global operations through IP migration and entity restructuring strategies, supply chain optimization, pre-acquisition internal carve-outs, and post-acquisition structure integration. Irene serves a wide range of clients, from Silicon Valley startups to publicly traded companies, in the technology, life sciences and retail sectors. Irene also advises clients in tax disputes, focusing on the US federal income tax implications of cross-border operations.

Irene maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting with nonprofit formations, applications for 501(c)(3) tax exemption, and offers in compromise for low-income Bay Area residents.

During law school, Irene served as co-president of the Penn Law Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and completed externships with UN Women and the Center for American Progress.
