Carole Hunter is experienced in all aspects of corporate restructuring including litigation and commercial ‎issues relating to receiverships, reorganizations, enforcement of security, reviewable transactions and ‎liquidations. ‎

Carole has represented a broad spectrum of clients including court-appointed monitors, receivers, trustees ‎in bankruptcy, purchasers, debtors, directors, creditors' committees, secured and unsecured creditors and ‎suppliers in all types of Canadian and cross-border insolvency and restructuring proceedings and ‎transactions.

EXPERIENCE

  • Acted for a secured creditor in the receivership and Chapter 15 proceedings of Cuda Energy Inc. and its ‎affiliates.‎
  • Acted for the purchaser of the directional drilling assets in the proposal proceedings of Newsco ‎International Energy Services.‎
  • Acted for the interim lender and plan sponsor in the proposal proceedings and restructuring of Zargon ‎Oil & Gas Inc. and its subsidiaries.‎
  • Acted for a major secured creditor in the CCAA and Chapter 11 proceedings of BJ Energy Services LLC ‎and its affiliates.‎
  • Acted for the principal secured creditor and lien claimant in the receivership of Destiny Bioscience ‎Global Corp. and Destiny Biotech Inc.‎
  • Acted for the pension plan beneficiaries in the CCAA proceedings of Northern Transportation Company ‎Limited.‎
  • Acted for FairWest Energy Corporation in its CCAA proceedings.‎
  • Acted for SemCanada Crude Company and its affiliates in their cross-border restructuring under the ‎CCAA and Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.‎
  • Acted as Canadian counsel to International Automotive Components Group North America in its ‎acquisition of the soft trim division of Collins and Aikman.‎
  • Acted as Canadian counsel to the official committee of unsecured creditors of Calpine Corporation and ‎its affiliates in its cross-border restructuring under the CCAA and Chapter 11 of the United States ‎Bankruptcy Code.‎
  • Acted for Slater Steel Inc. and its affiliates in their cross-border restructuring under the CCAA and ‎Chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code.‎
  • Acted for the monitor, claims administrator and liquidator in the CCAA and OBCA proceedings of The T. ‎Eaton Company Limited.‎
