Alex Jorge is a partner and Co-head of the Tax practice at Campos Mello Advogados, based in São Paulo.

Alex focuses his practice on tax planning and consulting for direct and indirect taxes, audit defense, M&A, transfer pricing, customs, private wealth and international taxation. He advises clients in several sectors, particularly consumer goods, direct selling, life science, oil and gas, technology, insurance, capital venture and educational enterprises going business or investing in Brazil.

Alex's vast experience includes the design and implementation of many tax efficient business structures and general tax advice on taxation of foreign profits, transfer pricing, thin-capitalization, cross-border transactions, investment in regulated vehicles (ie, FIP, FII), utilization of special customs regimes, financing and licensing arrangements.

Before joining Campos Mello Advogados in 2013, Alex served as in-house counsel for US multinational corporations, including Avon Products and Philip Morris. Alex is frequently sought by tax publications to comment on controversial issues in Brazil and is praised by clients as a responsive and technical attorney.
