Jason Kornmehl has represented multinational corporations, financial institutions, prominent individuals and foreign sovereigns in state and federal courts in a variety of areas, including antitrust, securities, disputes arising out of mergers and acquisitions, environmental, products liability, bankruptcy, tax and other complex commercial litigation matters.  Jason has written numerous articles, which have been published in the Pepperdine Law Review, NYU Journal of Legislation & Public Policy, Seattle University Law Review, Journal of Maritime Law & Commerce, New York Business Law Journal and Intellectual Property Litigator, among others.

  • Representing leading pharmaceutical company in multidistrict litigation asserting consumer fraud claims and alleging economic damages from purported presence of a nitrosamine in prescription medication
  • Representing agricultural cooperative in eight putative class actions challenging product labeling as false or misleading under state and federal consumer protection laws, including securing dismissal of three actions and obtaining summary judgment in another
  • Represented a Latin American country in numerous breach of contract actions in cross-border litigation, including actions relating to complex GDP-linked Securities and actions relating to alleged expropriation of majority stake in oil company
  • Represented a leading multinational company and certain individual officers in securing dismissal of putative securities class action premised on cartel investigation by foreign antitrust regulators and successfully defended the decision on appeal
  • Represented an Australian bank in putative class action asserting Commodity Exchange Act, antitrust, and RICO claims premised on alleged  manipulation of foreign exchange benchmark
  • Represented a major financial institution in litigation in U.S. Tax Court and IRS administrative proceedings
  • Represented one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers in numerous federal and state actions, including class action litigation, opt-out litigation, and regulatory investigations
  • Represented CFO of pharmaceutical company in securities litigation asserting claims under Sections 10(b), 14(e), and 20(a) of Exchange Act
  • Represented numerous entities, including financial institutions, law firm, and oil and gas company, in responding to subpoenas in federal and state courts
