Stuart A. Liner is known for his advocacy on behalf of celebrities, business managers, lawyers, agents and studio heads in the entertainment industry, as well as real estate owners and developers. In 2016, the Los Angeles Business Journal named Stuart one of the "Top Facilitators" in the "500 Most Influential People in Los Angeles."  

His clients turn to him for his vast experience in litigation, in particular when complicated issues, transactions and crises are involved. He often finds successful solutions to high-profile problems while remaining behind the scenes.

Stuart is  frequently brought in to settle difficult cases and has achieved several eight-figure settlements in contingent fee cases, including a case against a major insurance company for targeting a product towards low-income residents in several different states; a class action against a large drug wholesaler brought by participants in a profit-sharing and savings plan that bought the company's stock; and a high-profile case against the State of California based on a failed US$2.3 billion buildings sale.

Previously ,Stuart was managing partner of prominent Los Angeles-based boutique law firm Liner LLP from its formation in 1996 to its merger with DLA Piper in 2017. Among his achievements at that firm, he successfully launched a number of business ventures with clients in the areas of entertainment and media, real estate and other core investments. Here are some examples of these ventures:

  • In 2007, provided legal services and invested in the expansion of Summit Entertainment, which was transitioning from being a film distribution company to a film studio. Ultimately, another client acquired Summit Entertainment in 2012 for US$412.5 million
  • Invested  with client Colony Capital in the acquisition out of bankruptcy of LodgeNet (now known as Sonifi) − the premier provider of interactive media and consulting services in the hospitality and healthcare industries
  • Developed hundreds  of millions of dollars worth of luxury residential, student housing and commercial real estate projects 
  • Partnered with a client in the acquisition of a portfolio of parking companies with US$600 million in annual revenues
