Matthew Nichols assists property owners, developers, and investors on matters relating to complex real estate development, land use entitlement, zoning and environmental law. He has worked on a variety of major projects in Southern California, including traditional and mixed-use commercial, residential and industrial developments. 

Matt also has experience representing landowners and developers in matters before the California Coastal Commission, involving coastal development permits, appeals, exemptions, local coastal programs, and enforcement, as well as related local entitlements and compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Earlier in his career, Matt worked as an attorney representing public entities in a variety of real estate, land use, development, impact fee and municipal financing transactions, including the formation and administration of Mello-Roos Community Facilities Districts.
